PeaceLuvStructure

Yall have most likely realized by now that I have not been blogging daily like I originally promised. I did not realize how much of a commitment that would be. I am still going to try to blog as often as possible but it probably won't be daily. After school is over I will hopefully have more time to blog and be more involved. Also the daily themes are nice but sometimes I feel like blogging about a different topic completely, so I will try to throw a mixture of everything in my blogs. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions I will gladly answer you ASAP. Any feedback whether it is good or bad will help me to improve my blog to the potential that I know it can reach.

PeaceLuvFinalStretch

So as you may know I am currently a college student. I know a lot of my followers are as well. We are in the final stretch of the semester. There are 3-4 weeks left for most of us. This means that all of the big projects and final exams are approaching and some have already been assigned. I know from personal experience as being a very big procrastinator that the stress that this last month or so can cause can be unbearable at times. So because of this I am going to give you guys a list of 10 ways to destress your life during the next few weeks.

1. Make a schedule of what you have and when it is due. Then plan out what parts of each project you want to be done with by a certain day. This will help you to keep on track and not get far behind.

2. Limit use of social media sites so that you can be more productive.

3. Make sure to set achievable goals and times to get your work done.

4. Pamper yourself one night with a bubble bath, face mask, soft easy going music, and anything else to help you just relax and not have to think about the stressful things in your life. I like to do this before I go to bed.

5. Don't stay up all night because that will throw off your sleep schedule which will make you more tired and lazy the next day and won't help your energy levels stay up.

6. Get a study group together. Whether you are working on a project or just studying for a test it will be more enjoyable with other people studying the same topics. This way if you have questions you can ask other people for help.

7. Get extra help from your teachers. If you are not sure you are doing a project right or not fully understanding a concept in class meet up with your teacher during their free periods. You can show them your project and see what they think so far and you can have them give you some one on one help with concepts for the final exam.

8. Reward yourself for completely things on your to-do list. This will motivate you to get things down at a faster pace. The reward could be watching a movie, getting ice cream, hanging out with friends, or a variety of other things.

9. Don't leave everything to the last minute. You might be a great procrastinator and be able to get it all done but it will not be your best quality and it will just make you more stressed out in the long run.

10.  Do one of these 50 things.

I hope this will help you guys out. If you have any other things that help you destress feel free to comment below to help out other people.

PeaceLuvBreakingShoesIn

It's Fashion Friday and with the weather getting nicer the flats are coming out for spring. Here is an easy and quick way to break in your shoes without those painful blisters and sore heels. I found this on Pinterest via lifehacker.com

Put on socks  and slip on your shoes.
Aim the hairdryer on the tight section for a few seconds (wiggle and stretch your feet inside the shoe for maximum benefit).
Keep the shoes on while they cool.
Remove the socks and test out shoes.
It should be stretched out, but if you need more room, then repeat the process.

PeaceLuvBusy

Hey yall! I just wanted to say I am sorry for not blogging the last week I was sick with the stomach flu a few of the days and obviously my health came first. Also, my step brother came in from California for 10 days and surprised my step dad. I don't get to see him often, because lets face it who wants to leave sunny California weather for bipolar Chicago weather, so I have been spending a lot of time with him. My last reason is I have been very busy with school especially because I only have a few weeks left until summer (yipee) so all of my teachers are giving out the large projects. So I promise you I will try my utmost best to blog daily but I cannot make any promises. Thank you guys for hanging in there with me :) You guys are the best!!!!

PeaceLuvMakeup

Its Tips and Tricks Tuesday!!!!! Today's tips and tricks will be makeup related.

1. If your mascara is dried out, instead of throwing it away add a small amount of saline solution to refresh it.
2.If you have an oily face and don't have any blotting paper around you can use a toilet seat covers that they have in public restrooms instead.
3. Can't find your lipstick? Use the powder jello as a lipstain instead.
4. Need to remove your eye makeup but don't want to pay for expensive makeup remover. Dab a cotton ball with a splash of olive oil
5. To get the perfect shade of pink lipstick to match your skin tone squeeze the end of your pinky and find a color that matches that hue.
6. Forgot blush? Pinch your cheeks for instant color.
7. Use honey to dry up pimples. Put a band aid over so you don't rub it off.
8. Freeze eyeliner pencils in freezer for 15 minutes to eliminate smudging and breaking of the tip.
9. Add a few sprinkles of cinnamon to lip gloss to plump your lips.
10. Apply a damp washcloth to your face if you apply too much foundation so it will not look like a mask of makeup.

PeaceLuvLifeHacks

I don't know about you guys but I personally love to do as little amount of work but still get the best result possible. A life hack is a little way to make life easier, and usually more efficient. I will give you 3 life hacks for each category. If you enjoy this blog comment below and I can make more life hack blogs.

House Hacks
1. Declutter Your Closet- At the beginning of the year (I would suggest in January) turn all the hangers in your closet facing outward. Throughout the year ever time you hang something up that you have worn flip the hanger inward. This way at the end of the year all the clothes that are on hangers still facing outward are clothes that should be given away.
2. Don't Be Tardy-If being late has become more of a habit then an occasional event then you should make a music playlist that equals the amount of time you have until you have to leave. I suggest having the songs go from relaxed to energetic. This way as the songs speed up you will too.
3. Forget Me Not-An easy way to make sure you don't forget important things is too put your car keys on top of the item(s). This way when you go to grab your keys you will see the important things and grab them as well.

Food Hacks
1.Go Bananas- Instead of opening a banana by the stem, flip the banana over and open it easier by pinching the stem. This is the way the monkeys do it.
2.Hot And Cold-When heating up leftovers in the microwave make a space in the center of the food. This way it will heat up more evenly.
3. Hard As A Rock-If you ever go to use brown sugar for a recipe and realize that it is rock solid, instead of throwing it away put it into an air tight bag and also put a piece of fresh bread in the bag as well. This should soften it up.

College Hacks
1. Back In A Flash-Flash drives can hold a lot of important irreplaceable information and loosing them could be devastating. When you buy your flash drive you should make an Identification.txt file. On this file you should include your name, email address, and a phone number so that if somebody finds it they know who to contact to get it back to you.
2. Color Coated Keys-If you have a lot of keys(house, dorm room, car, mailbox, etc..) it can be hard to tell them apart. An easy way to do this is to use nail polish and paint the top part of the key. Paint each key a distinctively different color and this way you don't have to try every key before you find the right one.
3. Double Down-If you need to withdraw money but the amount you need is over your limit go to the ATM and withdraw the amount again within the a minute of your first withdraw. If you do it quick enough you can get the money before the ATM stops you.

Money Saving Hacks (I will post more detailed blogs about this topic in particular.)
1. Amazon-If you purchase something on Amazon.com and within the next 30 days the price decreases you can email them and they will refund you the difference.
2. Coupon Queen-Before purchasing anything online google the store to see if there are any coupons. (I suggest retailmenot.com)
3. In-Store Cash-Whenever purchasing something at the store before checking out ask the cahier if there are any coupons currently. Most of the time the have ones that they can scan for you and save you money.

PeaceLuvFreshmanYear

Looking back at my freshman year of college there are a lot of things I wish I had known. Transitioning from high school to college is a BIG step. I started preparing for college 6 months in advance. I read about every article about how fun college was going to be and what I needed to have the best experience ever. I wish I had read an article with a list of things someone wish they knew before they left to embark on a new journey. This is why I am going to write a list of a few things I wish I had known before beginning freshman year.

1.  The majority of college students change their major more than 3 times before they graduate.
Don't worry about what you are going to do for the rest of your life. You are only 18 you have time to decide. Start by taking general education classes and see which ones you are interested in and which ones you aren't. You can start thinking more seriously about it once your general education courses are out of the way.

2. Sadly the Freshman 15 is a real problem that most girl's experience.
I know from personal experience that college caused my weight to fluctuate on a daily basis. Between the lack of sleep, late night snacking, unhealthy dorm food, partying, and not making time to exercise packing on the pounds will happen.

3.You don't have to be best friends with your roommate(s).
I had three roommates. Yes, four teenage girls living in one room. The chances that their is going to be no clashing between four different unique personalities is slim to none. Make sure to make clear cut rules at the beginning of the year so you know what your roommate(s) expect of you and so they know what you expect of them. These rules should include things like having friends visit, having guys over, cleanliness, sharing items, bed times, pet peeves, and expectations in general.

4.You do not need to buy all of your textbooks before the first day of class.
I have found out the hard way that some classes say you have to buy a book but the teacher will tell you that it is optional. I like to wait until the first week of class to see if the teacher assigns anything from the book or clearly states you will need it in the future.

5. Missing class sets you back more than you expect
Take it from someone who ended up having to leave school because I was failing to many classes. The reason I was failing wasn't because I was unintelligent it was because I was a night owl and would stay up until 6 or 7 in the morning and then when I would finally fall asleep I would sleep through my alarms and miss my classes. You might tell yourself, "Well, it's just ONE class," the truth of the matter is college isn't like high school you don't have as close of a relationship, if any, with them and when you tell them you weren't at the last class they usually will tell you to find someone with the notes and thats the end of that. Don't skip class it will strongly affect you in the scheme of things.
